  • Shortwave Diathermy:
  • It refers to a therapeutic treatment usually prescribed for joint conditions and involves the use of a high-frequency electric current that is delivered via different methods like microwave, shortwave or ultrasound to generate heat in body tissues.
  • Interferential Therapy (IFT):
  • It is a non-invasive, drug free therapy that helps in providing relief and management of post-surgical and post-trauma acute pain and chronic intractable pain.
  • Muscle Stimulators:
  • They help in relieving pain, reducing edema and spasms, strengthening weak muscles and assisting the healing process by providing ease to muscle tension, stiffness in joints or back areas, and by increasing local blood circulation.
  • Hydrocollator Packs:
  • It is a form of Moist Heat Therapy which involves the use of hot packs to increase the temperature of soft tissues below the surface of the skin.
  • TENS:
  • It stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. It is a part of the physiotherapy treatment and involves the use of electric current to stimulate the nerves in the affected area for physiotherapeutic purposes.
  • Traction:
  • It is a technique in which a longitudinal force is applied to stretch and decompress the vertebral joints and tissues around the spine that helps in relieving pressure on the spine or straightening broken bones.
  • CPM:
  • Continuous Passive Motion or CPM is a treatment in physiotherapy that involves the use of devices to reduce inflammation and relieve post-operative pain, provide passive motion in a particular movement and assist in the healing process.
  • PWB:
  • Partial Weight Bearing or PWB involves the use of crutches to assist in the walking process after an injury in the leg or post-surgery.
